About Me

Wecolme!  My name is Erica Colón and I’m excited to share with you all my ideas and teaching strategies for science education.  Being a Navy wife, I have had the opportunity to teach Science in New York, Virginia, Texas, Florida, Washington and Hawaii.  While teaching in different states have had its challenges, I have been blessed to work among some of the greatest educators, make life-long friends and most importantly teach the best, most genuine and gracious students ever!

I started teaching Science in 2000 and have since become Nationally Board Certified, earned my Master’s in Educational Administration and earned my Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction.  However, my greatest accomplishment has been becoming a mom to the most sassiest and beautiful little girl in the world.

So, for now, I’m taking a break from the classroom and staying home enjoying Bubble Guppies and beach combing with my daughter.  But that doesn’t mean I have to stop teaching, right?  Right!  So get ready to pull up your sleeves, and dig into a little science education with me - it’s time to get down to the Nitty Gritty!!
